On Sunday the TNT Express Pee Wee team played their first home game in front of an enthusiastic home crowd at Mel Mitchell Field against the Orangeville Outlaws. The Express started off with an exciting 60 yard touchdown run by Joe Tinkler. This was Joe’s first touchdown for the Express and all the offence played a part with great blocking and determination. The offensive line was strong powered by Liam Hunter and Kurtis Constable, Chris Zvaniga and Alex Guay. Jacob Moore did a great job starting at Centre for the first time. Gabriel Haley also had a strong day carrying the ball for the Express. Seth Hall had a spectacular run, breaking tackles rumbling into the end-zone tying the game at 14 in the third quarter.
The Defence was strong led by Trevor McDonald, Ben Posedi, Sullivan Willis-Drury, Ethan Foat, Sam Brayford and Nick Coleman. This was a hard fought battle and the teams were deadlocked at 14 with only 5 mins to play in the game. The Outlaws scored the go-ahead touchdown leaving three and half minutes for the Express to counter with a score. Braydon McCormack got the Express in great field position with a 50 yard kick return. Unfortunately, the Express ran out of time and didn’t get a chance to tie the game losing 20 – 14. Each and every player on the team contributed to a great effort.
